Fascial Dry Needling Focused Treatement

Assessment led dry needling for jaw, facial and neck muscle tension

30 min
780 South African rand
Strand Street

Service Description

A focused 30 minute physiotherapy session using dry needling to address the jaw, face and neck. The session begins with an assessment of your jaw movement, bite pattern, neck posture and the surrounding fascial and muscular structures, so that treatment is guided by what we actually find rather than a fixed protocol. Treatment then targets the muscles most often involved in jaw and head symptoms, including masseter, temporalis, the pterygoids where indicated, and the fascial connections running through the neck and upper shoulders. Dry needling is combined with hands on release and specific guidance you can carry into daily life. This session may be appropriate for people dealing with teeth grinding, jaw clenching, jaw stiffness or clicking, facial muscle tension and recurring tension type headaches. Responses vary between individuals and more than one session is often needed. Your physiotherapist will discuss expected outcomes with you after the assessment and will refer on to a dentist, doctor or other practitioner where that is in your best interest. Treatment is provided by a physiotherapist registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa, working within physiotherapy scope of practice. Informed consent is obtained before any needling is performed.
