Dry Needling Focused Treatment
TRIGGER POINT RELEASE
Service Description
Every dry needling session at Peak Movement begins with a detailed clinical assessment to identify your pain patterns, areas of muscular tension, and movement limitations. This ensures that treatment is targeted accurately and that each session forms part of a structured, goal-oriented plan rather than a standalone intervention.Using fine, solid filament needles, your therapist targets myofascial trigger points — localised bands of contracted muscle tissue that refer pain, restrict movement, and resist conventional treatment. By releasing these trigger points directly, dry needling reduces pain, restores healthy blood flow, decreases muscular hypertonicity, and allows the affected tissue to heal more efficiently than stretching or manual therapy alone can achieve.Dry needling is particularly effective for chronic pain conditions, sports injuries, tension headaches, lower back and neck pain, shoulder impingement, and persistent movement restrictions that have not responded to other treatment approaches. It is commonly used as part of an integrated treatment plan alongside other modalities to accelerate and deepen clinical outcomes.Following your session you will receive guidance on what to expect in the hours after treatment and, where indicated, a personalised rehabilitation protocol to support your recovery between appointments.
