About
Most re injuries happen after discharge, in the gap between being cleared by a physiotherapist and being genuinely ready for full training. Being pain free is not the same as having the strength and tissue capacity your sport demands, and that gap is where athletes get caught. Bridging the Gap is a seven day return to sport programme for athletes and active people who have finished physiotherapy but cannot get back to full training. You are assessed, treated, taught why re injury happens, and started on the strength work your sport actually demands. The intensive week then flows into three weeks of Buddy tracked home programming and a Week 4 reassessment against your Day 1 baseline. It is led jointly by Zoe Bredenkamp, a physiotherapist who specialises in return to sport rehabilitation, and Sergio Rossouw, a strength coach who builds athletes for performance, working on the same plan for the same goal at the same time. I have been discharged, so why am I still not ready? Discharge means the injury has settled. Readiness means the tissue can tolerate your sport, which takes further loading. How long is the programme? Seven days intensive, then three weeks of tracked home programming and a Week 4 reassessment. Who is it for? Athletes and active people who have completed physiotherapy and are stuck short of full training. Book at 94 Strand Street, Cape Town, or call 067 369 0593.
