Biokinetics Postnatal Focused Session
A STAGED RETURN TO EXERCISE AFTER BIRTH
Service Description
Getting back to exercise after a baby is a progression, not a switch you flip at six weeks. This session with Tayla Shipp, our registered biokineticist, gives you a structured, supervised pathway so you can rebuild properly instead of guessing. In this session Tayla will tackle a full assessment of your strength, movement quality and load tolerance after pregnancy, then build progressive resistance training around the stage you are actually at. She works on glute, hip and posterior chain strength for a body that carries a baby all day, integrates deep core and breathing work that supports your pelvic floor, and runs impact readiness testing before you return to running so that decision is based on your body rather than a date. Conditioning is designed around the sleep and time you realistically have, and your postnatal programme is written down and adjusted at every session. Postnatal recovery is not a race and it is not a lost cause either. Whether you want to run again, return to your gym programme, or simply lift your toddler without your back complaining, there is a path there and Tayla will map it with you. Where symptoms need clinical input, she works directly with Tasneem Kader and our women's health physiotherapy team. Postnatal biokinetics with Tayla Shipp at 94 Strand Street, Cape Town CBD.
